Over the past few months I have had time to reflect on working with Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. I was invited to join Craig from GCU for the Common Good Podcast, to share my experience of working with CHSS as part of my placement at GCU. In this podcast I share some of the challenges and positive outcomes from working with CHSS. It has been an absolute experience and pleasure working with CHSS as the team does a tremendous job of working to support stroke survivors, and
carers, of which I am glad to have been part of. I look forward to seeing the charity continue supporting people and for the service to be maintained and grow with the support of GCU, trainee health psychologists, and CHSS coordinators.
In the podcast, I would like to point out that there is an error in what I say, and therefore will clarify here that there are over 100,000 new stroke cases a year in UK, and there are currently around 1million people suffering from the symptoms of stroke.
I will be writing a couple of blog posts this coming month to stroke survivors and carers, which will be uploaded here and on social media (Instagram/Facebook).
